Lupton Fawcett LLP, the Leeds and Sheffield-based commercial law firm, has successfully held its second ‘BA’ course for university age children of its clients and contacts.

The dynamic group of students attended a two day business ‘finishing school’, set in a local hotel, and were introduced to the business world by a series of tailored workshops designed to help them when they have finished University and begin their careers and, provided with their first networking opportunity.

Presenters included Baker Tilly Partner Mike Jackson (business plans), Jane Barrett of Workmaze Ltd (managing your career), Will Kintish of Kintish Limited (business networking skills), Sue Hanson of BSH People (powerful CVs), Business Mentor Marc Thompson, Jonathan Ogle of Coutts & Co (banking relationships), Jennifer Holloway of Spark Limited (personal branding), Phillippa Carr of Asda (wine tasting), Victoria Pritchard, Redvoice (confident communications) and John Sykes of Lupton Fawcett LLP (legal issues in the commercial market).

Commenting on the course, Marc Thompson, said: “If only” – If only there had been some organisation that would have bothered to help in this way when I was younger. If only there had been the information so readily at hand. If only there had been these opportunities for the next generation of creators of our future! It is a brilliant idea, well executed, an inspiration for all businesses and I am proud to have been part of it, thank you”.
