			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.yourgoldenthreads.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/cupboard.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-606" title="cupbCupboardoard" src="http://www.yourgoldenthreads.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/cupboard.jpg" alt="" width="123" height="182" /></a>There are billions spent on nutritional supplements each year, billions more on diets, diet foods and &#8220;lite&#8221; foods. So why are we, in the West, in real trouble from diet related disease and imbalance?</p>
<p>Perhaps one of the reasons may be that there is so much of the &#8220;other stuff&#8221; (Alcohol, fast food, additives etc), that it is really difficult to keep balance in yours and your families diet.  Or is it much simpler than that?</p>
<p>Is it that supplements and diets generally speaking don&#8217;t work?! Is it that we have relinquished control of our eating sense and handed it over to the marketeers to tell us what is great for us and what will build us up or reduce us down, make us have super energy and all the rest of the hyperbaly out there in the multi-billion pound / dollar arena.</p>
<p>I have a little secret!</p>

The secret is; WE ALL KNOW WHAT WE SHOULD EAT BUT CHOOSE NOT TO, we know that we will put weight on if we take in too many carb.&#8217;s and don&#8217;t expel the energy it has stored for us, we know we shouldn&#8217;t drink as much alcohol and we should drink more water but we don&#8217;t.</p>
<p>It isn&#8217;t the supplements and the diets and the magic drinks, lotions and potions that will keep you energised, youthful and vital it is simply this; Eat little and often, cut down or eliminate processed bread and other processed foods, eat dark greens (raw preferable) at last twice a day, eat fruit &#8211; fresh fruit, as little meat as possible, fresh juices (not from a packet that says <em>fresh</em>), don&#8217;t eat late (after 7pm ish), eat breakfast (not on the run).</p>
<p>My most energetic, vital, fresh and truly &#8220;alive&#8221; period of my life was when I was vegan (slightly extreme for most) but a truly wonderful state to be in permanently and the closer you can get to that type of eating the better for you, your family, your medical Insurance (you wont need it!) and your longevity.</p>
<p>Point / Secret: Don&#8217;t trust something in a bottle or jar that you can get from FRESH &#8211; LIVE food. Only trust in Natures packaging!</p>

If your meals are missing out on vital vitamins and trace elements like iron and zinc you will soon start to feel run down and seek solace in chocolate and biscuits etc. So you must put real effort into ensuring these first two tips become an integral part of your diet. If you are not able to get enough trace elements from natural sources like salads you may need to take a vitamin or mineral supplement each day to ensure you are getting enough. The next tip is you have to accept that the new smaller you will need less to eat, permanently. But don’t make the mistake of skipping breakfast as this activates your metabolism and gets you burning calories right from the start of the day. Here is a good tip also from these members, that they all had a compelling reason to stay in shape. And if you don’t have one you must find one.</p>
<p>Because you are smaller obviously your body requires less calories, so therefore you need less fuel. The good news from these successful individuals is that it does get easier over a period of time as you establish your new lifestyle and eating habits. The next tip is to always weigh yourself every week preferably on the same day and at the same time.</p>
<p>Finally you must set yourself a fitness schedule in your diary and give that schedule top priority in your life. Exercising 3-5 times every week has to become one of your top priority’s.</p>
